Modular Silence — WU Campus, Vienna
Lines cut the sky. Louvres like a metronome. One figure at a time. Light opens, shadow closes. These images were made at the WU Campus (Vienna University of Economics and Business) in Leopoldstadt / Prater. Completed in 2013 on a masterplan by BUSarchitektur, the site was conceived as an urban campus—pedestrian squares, routes and social spaces interlinked—more small city than single university complex. At its heart stands the Library & Learning Center by Zaha Hadid Architects, alongside buildings by CRABstudio (Peter Cook & Gavin Robotham), Atelier Hitoshi Abe, Estudio Carme Pinós and NO.MAD Arquitectos: distinct voices forming a shared landscape with shops, cafés and restaurants open to students and the public.
